On August 12th the managment personnel concluded its training period of the Port of Progreso, with regards to Maritime protection, thus complying with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS).

The training, in accordance to the Ports and Merchant Fleet General Coordination, set by the International Maritime Organization, specialized UN agency, consisted of guidelines that personnel must follow within the 3 levels of protection. Insuring that in the event of a contingency the adecquate follow up to the protection procedure, management of emergencies, identification of hazardous materials, rules of behavior of the persons that can pose a threat to the protection, as well as the procedure for reporting incidents.

In our country, 6 Mexican ports count on a Maritime and Portuary Traffic Control Center (MPTCC) and Progreso is one of them, with a public investment in infastructure and equipment of $11.3 million pesos, this center positions Progreso at the top of the line in national and international Protection and Maritime Traffic
