PORT OF PROGRESO, YUCATAN, November 6th to 10th
In December, Progreso will have a phitosanitary inspection and verification location.

In the same month of December they will begin operating the phitosanitary inspection and verification location, with which Progreso will attract cargo that is currently moved through other ports and terrestrial borders.

Progreso is enabled to move perishable products by the Customs and Sanitary Authorities, which will benefit directly importers and exporters that handle this kind of cargo.

This service will provide the State of Yucatan and its influence area with:
1. Sanitary facilities of Federal character in the Port of Progreso facilities.
2. A flow of products of animal and vegetable origin.
3. Cost reduction to importers and exporters.
4. Facility to move the cargo currently moved through the terrestrial border and other ports.
5. Will diversify the cargo of Progreso.
6. Will increase substantialy the refrigerated container cargo.

As well as the benefits of exchange of the fruit of the season with South America, especially products coming from Chile and the exchange of meat products that are cuurrently using ports other than Progreso for its national consumption.

The Integral Port Management of Porgreso, along with the Containers Terminal of Yucatan has made visits to merchants in Quintana Roo, which are large suppliers of the restaurateur and hotelier industries in southeast Mexico to let them know this service for their logistic programming; likewise, they have also been participating in logistic forums with regional importers and exporters promoting the service that will begin operating in the Refrigerated Wharehouse facilities, operated by Interalta in the Port of Progreso.
