On Tuesday April 10th, 2007, at 11 hours, in the Port of Progreso took place a ceremony for receiving Passenger No. 1 million, who arrived in the Ecstasy Cruise Ship, of Carnival Cruise Lines.

The Captain of the Ecstasy Cruise Ship, Mr. Salvatore Messina, Local and State Authorities, as well as tour operators, officials of the SSA Mexico Cruise Terminal and of the Integral Port Management of Progreso, welcomed the Passenger No. 1 million of the port, Mrs, Jeanette Keeler, 56, from Houston, Texas.

As an acknowledgement of this fact, Mrs. Keeler was delivered with a trip for two, valid for one year, which includes air transportation and lodging, courtesy of the SSA Mexico Cruise Terminal and the Tourism Secretary of the State of Yucatan, respectively.

Accompanied by her husband, Mr. William Lawson, 64, the guests of honor toasted with the authorities present at the ceremony, sharing their joy and surprise because it was the first time they traveled in a cruise ship and also the first time they visited Yucatan.

After the ceremony, the distinguished Passenger No. 1 million, accompanied by her husband, visited the Port of Progreso in a bus of AutoProgreso, that provides the free transportation service to the city.

In the month of October, the distinguished passenger and her husband are planning to enjoy their prize in Yucatan.
