Today, Friday March 30th, 2007, the reconstruction works of the San Felipe warf were finished, which was carried out through a Colaboration Agreement with the San Felipe Council and the Integral Port Management (API) of Progreso.

This Agreement was signed on September 13th, 2006, for supporting the Fishing and Touristic Community of San Felipe.

The Integral Port Management of Progreso carried out the reconstruction works of the fishing wharf in the Municipality of San Felipe, which was out of work due to the deterioration created by several hurricanes.

With the reconstruction of this wharf, the Integral Port Management of Progreso will thrust the fishing activity of San Felipe, this benefitting 600 fishermen that live in the Municipality, the population and tourists that visit the site..

The API invested in such works 2,693,572 mexican pesos; these reconstruction works, wich lasted 5 months, began on October 13th, 2006, and were finished today March 30th, 2007.

The works consisted in the reconstruction of a wharf, of 60 meters long and 3.50 meters wide in San Felipe, Yucatan, including: drawing and levelling of the area by land survey means, rock perforation and stilt sinking in the bottom of the ocean, making prefabricated structures of reinforced concrete as: stilts, T beams, headers, slopes and markers, poured in place of the wharf’s slab, under water poured for the pile bent foundation. Transport, management, assembling and collocation of the prefabricated elements of stilts, T beams, headers, slopes and markers. Supply and collocation of docking defense, used tires defense and stainless steel rings for small ships moorage. Building of circular marker for marine signaling in the tip of the wharf.
